Getting around Freiburg with bags

Freiburg's main station, the Hauptbahnhof, is the primary rail arrival point and offers direct tram and bus connections to the city centre. On VAG trams and buses, you can bring hand luggage and other easily portable, non-bulky items as long as they don't endanger or inconvenience other passengers or operations. VAG provides ramps on all buses and trams with at least one low-floor compartment to assist with step-free boarding for passengers with luggage, strollers, or wheelchairs. On the airport bus run by Freiburger Reisedienst, one piece of hand luggage in the passenger compartment and one suitcase in the luggage hold travel free. Bag rules at museums and stadiums

Museums run by Museen Freiburg don't allow anything larger than DIN A4 — roughly 30 x 20 cm — into exhibition rooms, so large backpacks, bags, and suitcases must go to the cloakroom. The Augustinermuseum, Museum Natur und Mensch, and Museum für Neue Kunst are reachable from the main station on tram line 1 towards Littenweiler, by getting off at Oberlinden.

The Europa-Park Stadion bans bags larger than DIN A3 but provides fee-based lockers at every entrance. The Dreisamstadion is stricter: nothing bigger than DIN A4 gets in, and there's no storage for larger items at the guest entrance.
