Luggage storage in Denpasar

Plenty of visitors to Denpasar land with luggage long before a hotel or rental property will take it, and a late flight or ferry can leave hours to fill.

The city’s two main arrival points handle bags differently: Benoa Harbour has no storage facilities, and the airport can be reached by the Trans Metro Dewata bus, which itself has only limited baggage space. Some major landmarks, including the Bajra Sandhi Monument and Taman Werdhi Budaya Arts Centre, offer no luggage storage of their own, so planning ahead matters. Denpasar is the capital and largest city of Bali province. Alun-Alun Puputan is the central square and main orientation point for central Denpasar, with the Bali Museum and Pura Jagatnatha temple on its grounds. Museum Pasifika requires visitors to check bags, backpacks, and briefcases 13 x 17 x 6 inches or larger in its check room. With Stasher, you can store bags from US$3.08 per bag per day.

Arriving by air or sea with luggage

Benoa Harbour is the sea entrance to Denpasar, about 10 km from the city centre. From I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, the Trans Metro Dewata bus (Corridor 2B) links to Denpasar’s city area, ending at Terminal Ubung. The ride to Halte Suli 2 takes roughly an hour in normal traffic. Buses run every 10 to 20 minutes and cost Rp 4,400 one-way.

Trans Metro Dewata advises carrying only a limited amount of luggage because baggage space on the bus is tight, and suggests ride-hailing services or car rentals if you have many items.

Getting around Denpasar and nearby landmarks

The Bajra Sandhi Monument sits in Renon, the government administrative district on Denpasar’s southeastern edge. Taman Werdhi Budaya Arts Centre is in the eastern suburbs and hosts Balinese art exhibitions plus the annual Bali Arts Festival. Denpasar itself borders Badung Regency to the west and north, Gianyar Regency to the east, and the Indian Ocean and Badung Strait to the south.
