Great experience. We were met curbside by very helpful staff. Safe vibrant area of the city. When you return for your bags save a few minutes for a cocktail at the pub.

Outstanding service from the Premier Inn staff member on duty. As the article had some value and could be easily damaged it was stored with care and attention. Maps do not indicate the restricted access to the location from the most obvious direction but solved with a detour.

Luggage storage and how to get around Santa María Huatulco

Most visitors arrive through Bahías de Huatulco Airport, which sits 12–19 km from the main districts of La Crucecita, Santa Cruz, Chahué, and Tangolunda, so sorting out bags before you leave the terminal matters. Huatulco's tourism revolves around its nine bays and 36 beaches, from Cacaluta and Chachacual to Tangolunda and Santa Cruz, spread across a coastline that rewards moving light.

La Crucecita is the inland downtown hub, about a 30-minute walk or short taxi ride from Santa Cruz Bay, while Tangolunda to the east is where most larger hotels cluster. With Stasher, you can store bags from US$1.49 per bag a day.

Travelling by bus with luggage

La Crucecita is the region's bus hub, with both the Central Camionera and the Central de Autobuses ADO there for onward travel. If you're taking an ADO bus, you can bring up to two pieces of hand luggage into the cabin, as long as they fit the overhead compartment and have no wheels.

Visiting the bays and beaches with a day pack

The Huatulco National Park protects over 11,000 hectares of terrestrial and marine ecosystems, so beach-hopping here often means unpaved trails and boat transfers rather than locker-lined promenades. The Copalita Eco-Archaeological Park adds Zapotec archaeological remains to the mix, another site where you'll want only what you can carry comfortably. The airport's passenger terminal does include a bus terminal for shuttle services and transfers, which helps for reaching your accommodation directly on arrival.
