Drop your bag quickly in a little barbershop one block from millenium station, chi cultural center, and all the tourist stuff on the lake. The concierge/security guard at the front counter will help you find it-just ask! Super easy, nice people, and very helpful. T

It was excellent but expensive. We felt safe leaving it at a hotel, but we found the price quite high.

Everything went according to plan. However, we were concerned that our 2 bags were simply left in the general reception area. They appeared to be there from 13.30 to 19.00 when we collected them. This did not inspire confidence from a security point of view.

Quarteira and luggage storage at a glance

Quarteira's late flights and self-catering rentals mean bags often outstay the room. We'll help you find somewhere to drop yours so the beach and promenade stay hands-free.

The town itself has no train station — the nearest rail stop is Loulé, about 7km north — and the central bus terminal handles regional connections to Faro, Albufeira, Vilamoura and Loulé, while direct buses reach Vilamoura's marina in roughly five minutes. Rail travellers heading to or from Quarteira therefore pass through Loulé, and the weekly Wednesday market near Fonte Santa is easier to navigate with a backpack than a rolling case. Quarteira is a civil parish within the municipality of Loulé, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. The town has evolved from a traditional fishing village into a cosmopolitan centre for tourism. Visitors often come for Quarteira's beaches, high-quality fish and seafood, and its proximity to Vilamoura. Praia de Forte Novo is about a 10-minute walk east of the town centre. With Stasher, you can store bags from €1.49 per bag per day.

Getting to Quarteira with bags

The central bus terminal is Terminal Rodoviário de Quarteira on Avenida Francisco Sá Carneiro, handling regional services to Faro, Albufeira, Vilamoura and Loulé. If you arrive from Faro Airport by FlixBus, you can bring one piece of hand luggage up to 30x42x18 cm and one checked bag up to 50x80x30 cm free, which covers most holiday cases, and one-way fares start at $6.48. From the same terminal, a direct VAMUS bus reaches Praia da Marina in Vilamoura in about 5 minutes, so the marina is an easy add-on even with a bag in tow.

Exploring Quarteira and the coast

The weekly market runs on Wednesday mornings near Fonte Santa on the outskirts of town, where a rolling case is manageable but crowded aisles make a backpack the easier choice. There is no train station in Quarteira itself — the nearest stop is Loulé station, roughly 7km north, served by Regional, Intercidades and Alfa Pendular services. That means rail travellers heading to or from Quarteira effectively pass through Loulé, which is worth knowing before you assume a train will drop you in the town centre.
