Luggage storage across Buffalo

Buffalo sits in Western New York, where visitors come for its museums, waterfront and food scene rather than as a pass-through hub. The airport has no left luggage desk at all, and while Amtrak's Exchange Street Station will hold bags for ticketed passengers, attractions like KeyBank Center and the Martin House largely won't take anything bigger than a small clutch. With Stasher, you can store bags from $7.28 per bag a day.

Some top Stasher locations in Buffalo include:

You'll typically find a bag drop at postal service locations. Every booking comes with the Stasher Guarantee, which protects your bags up to US$13,000. Stasher storage in Buffalo can be booked through the website or app.

Luggage storage at the station and airport

Buffalo Niagara International Airport has no official left luggage or storage lockers, so don't count on dropping a bag there before a flight. The NFTA 24 Genesee bus links the airport to downtown for $2 one-way, while the 78 Cheektowaga Express makes a faster 25-minute trip only during weekday morning and evening rush hours.

Amtrak's Exchange Street Station downtown offers checked baggage storage for a fee, though only for passengers rather than anyone walking in off the street. The station serves Empire Service round trips between Niagara Falls and New York City plus one Maple Leaf round trip between Toronto and New York City.

Luggage storage and bag rules at attractions

The Buffalo AKG Art Museum asks visitors to leave backpacks, purses and anything larger than 10 x 10 x 4 inches in their vehicle or in the museum's complimentary lockers and coat room. The Burchfield Penney Art Center also has lockers at the entrance and requires all large bags over 13 x 17 inches to go into one before entering the galleries.

KeyBank Center is stricter, prohibiting all backpacks, purses and bags entirely — only clutches and wristlets no larger than 4 x 6 x 1.5 inches get through the door. Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House doesn't allow large backpacks inside for safety reasons and asks visitors to leave them in their car or at home.

Getting around Buffalo with luggage

KeyBank Center sits downtown and is served by the NFTA Metro Rail line along Main Street.

The Buffalo AKG Art Museum is about nine miles from the airport and reachable on NFTA bus line 20. Canalside, the downtown waterfront district, is directly accessible by Metro Rail at Erie Canal Harbor Station. Wherever you ride, NFTA Metro policy requires passengers to keep purses and bags on their lap or beneath their seat.
