Upon arrival, the merchant warmly greeted me. After I showed him my reservation details, he presented a hand-written copy of my reservation, thus letting me know they were expecting me. It was such a relief because I felt that this would be a legitimate transaction. No issues. Very professional.

Nothing bad about this place. I had an issue and I wrote to them on WhatsApp and they replied quickly and helped me. I recommend it, plus it's very close to Atocha station. Keep in mind that it opens at 9 AM and closes at 9 PM.

Everything went incredibly well. The bike shop where they store your luggage is even closer to the Atocha train station than the app says. And the staff at the shop are extremely friendly. We will definitely repeat when we return to Madrid.

Luggage storage and bag rules at the Reina Sofía Museum

Arriving at the Reina Sofía Museum with a bag that won't pass its entry rules can disrupt a museum day, so it pays to know your options before walking to the door.

The museum sits right by Atocha-RENFE and has nearby metro stops at Estación del Arte and Lavapiés. Its doors open 10:00–21:00 most days but close entirely on Tuesdays. Nearby, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor are free, always-open public squares with no bag facilities of their own. The Reina Sofía is Spain's national museum of 20th-century art. Its main draw is the collection of 20th-century Spanish art, featuring works by Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí, most notably Picasso's Guernica. Access to the Reina Sofía Museum with suitcases is not permitted. The museum provides an official cloakroom and locker service at both its Sabatini and Nouvel building entrances. The recommended official duration for a visit is approximately two hours. With Stasher, you can store bags from €1.49 per bag per day at 20+ locations near Reina Sofía Museum.

Getting to the museum with luggage

The museum sits right by Atocha-RENFE, so plenty of visitors arrive straight off a train. On the metro, Line 1 stops at Estación del Arte and Line 3 at Lavapiés, both a short walk from the entrances. Opening hours run 10:00–21:00 Monday and Wednesday to Saturday, and 10:00–14:30 on Sunday, with Tuesdays closed entirely. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing, and galleries begin emptying 15 minutes before the doors shut.

Nearby sights and their own bag rules

Puerta del Sol is a public square with no ticket or entry restrictions, open around the clock, and Sol station beneath it connects metro lines 1, 2, and 3. El Rastro Market is free every Sunday and public holidays from 9:00 to 15:00, so weekend visitors often combine it with a museum trip.

Plaza Mayor is likewise free and has no scheduled closing time, though events or ceremonies can occasionally alter access.
